Derck de Bock – surveyor
After earning his MTS degree in mechanical engineering, Derck worked for a few years as a work planner at sawmill builder ELCON B.V. In 1999, he joined his parents’ ship and yacht building company, shipyard de Bock en Meijer B.V. in Leimuiden. Here he learned all about shipbuilding and eventually climbed to manager.
After the closure of the shipyard in 2010, Derck joined C-Job Naval Architects and Engineers in Hoofddorp. There he worked as a project manager and construction supervisor on many interesting projects.
In 2013, he moved over to a new industry, that of marine surveying. He started as a marine surveyor at EFM Insurance, the legal predecessor of EOC Insurance. At EOC, Derck became a full-fledged and widely deployable marine surveyor. He carried out damage surveys on inland and pleasure vessels and construction works (e.g. locks, bridges). In addition, he performed condition surveys and carried out certification work on inland and pleasure vessels.
On February 12, 2024, Derck started as a marine surveyor in the team of Verschoor & Bras BV and Marintec Expertise BV.
